Let's be honest, cats are a way of life. Cats don't live for us, WE live for CATS.
We've had our kitten, Mumford for about 8 months and he's about to turn 1 year old at the end of October. He's changed the way I feel about coming home, even as a home-body type person. We look forward to entering the apartment, because we know he'll run up to us and great us with the loudest meow ever.
If you have a cat, you'll thoroughly appreciate this. However, if you're a dog person...how'd you get here?!
1. They will 100% of the time run/walk exactly where you're walking.
Have you ever tried to just walk into the kitchen and get a glass of water? Did you trip and almost fall on the way there? Did you spill your cup of water? Mhmm...
2. They're a fraction of our size, but take up most of the bed.
One of us is wakes up diagonally, one of us is falling off of one side...Mumford is in the middle on his back having the best sleep of his life. Anyone else?
3. Their little beans.
C'mon, doesn't anyone else call their cat's toes beans? They're tiny and they're perfect and round and they make me melt inside.
4. When they're getting wild, you'll know.
Their tails get HUGE. Like 5x bigger, I swear.
5. If you had high hopes for keeping your patio door pristine, don't get a kitten.
Your screen doors, your cabinets, your couches, your dining room tables, most chairs, your bed, door frames (Mumford's personal favorite)...Get rid of it all. Live in a cardboard box.
I don't even have to explain this, because you know exactly what I'm talking about. Cat kisses = sandpaper tongue.
7. Who needs Midol?
While on your period, all you need to do is lie down, put your cat on you, and they'll keep you warm and knead your cramps away!
8. They know you better than you think they do.
If you're feeling down, they know. If you're feeling happy, they know. They're so empathetic and it's proven that they help with anxiety, stress, and happiness!
9. Everyone who has a cat is basically in a cult.
We all know way too well how our little lions act at home. We're all in this together.
10. Don't you already want your stuff on the ground?
No? You don't want your cat to toss your things on the ground? How dare you.
If you love cats as much as we do, give this post some love (literally, there's a heart down below that will let us know if you liked this at all) and PLEASE continue to send us pictures of all your beautiful animals. We receive so many amazing pictures of them and we proudly tape them on our bedroom wall (Mumford likes to see them too).
If you want to get your cats professionally photographed OR if you just enjoy some damn good photos, check out our good friend, Caitlin: http://www.caitlincisar.com (and tell her we sent you!)
We love you all very much.
